Handmade cinnabar / 朱砂 Zhu Sha Indian ink stick.

The ink is mixed with water in a grater and can then be used for painting and making Daoist talismans.

The stick bears the inscription: 护身 驱邪 符 Hu Shen Qu Xie Fu – talisman to protect and drive away harm
